Change roles
A person’s roles decide what they can see and do. Everyone who claims is an Employee. The other roles add the ability to administer the company, approve sheets, or process them and run reports. The full list is in Roles and permissions.
Before you begin

Open People, choose Open on the person, and stay on the Profile tab.
-
In the Roles row, select a role to switch it on or off. A tinted role is active.
-
If you are switching off Approver and the person has sheets waiting for review, choose Substitute approver at the top right of the page and pick who takes over, then choose Done.
-
Choose Save below the card.
The person’s menus change the next time they load a page.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- Removing a role removes the access, but the person’s history stays and still shows their name on what they did.
- If the person was an approver on sheets that are waiting for review, the substitute becomes their reviewer, so those sheets are not left without one.
- Giving someone the Approver role does not make them anyone’s approver. You still add them to each employee’s list. See Choose approvers and managers.
