Use templates and suggestions
A template is a journey you saved so you do not have to type the same trip again. Suggestions are the ready-made claims MileageSheet offers on a sheet: your saved templates, repeats you asked for, and subsistence for absences that qualify.
Save a template
Section titled “Save a template”You can save a template in two ways.
- While adding a journey. In step 3 of the form, tick Save template and enter a Template name. See Add a journey.
- From the Templates screen. Open Templates in the left menu and choose New. Fill in Name, Origin, Waypoints (one place on each line), Destination and Purpose, then Save.
The Templates screen lists each template with its route, purpose, mileage type and Status, and offers Edit, Retire and Delete. Changing a template does not change journeys you already added from it.
Add a journey from a suggestion
Section titled “Add a journey from a suggestion”-
Open a Draft sheet and select the Mileage tab.
-
Choose Suggestions. The drawer lists your saved templates, repeats and qualifying subsistence.
-
Choose Add next to the one you want, confirm or change the date, and add it.
The journey or claim is created as an ordinary claim on the sheet. It is independent of the template: changing one later does not change the other.
If there is nothing to suggest, the drawer says “No suggestions”.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- A suggestion is not a claim until you add it. Suggestions are not part of what you submit.
- A repeat set to a future date waits until that day before it can be added.
- A suggested subsistence claim copies the facts of the journey it came from (date, times, destination, purpose). You still confirm the statements. See Add a subsistence claim.
Retire or delete a template
Section titled “Retire or delete a template”Retire takes a template out of the Suggestions drawer without losing it. A retired template can be reactivated. Delete removes it. Neither affects journeys already added from it.
