Handle a returned sheet
A submitted sheet can go back to Draft in three ways. In each case your earlier submission is kept as a record, and you must submit again before it can move on.
| Action | Who does it | When | Needs a reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Withdraw | You, the employee | The sheet is Submitted, before approval | No |
| Return | An assigned approver | The sheet is Submitted | Yes |
| Reopen | An Administrator | The sheet is Approved or Expired, and no later month is Submitted, Approved or Processed | Yes |
A Processed sheet cannot be withdrawn, returned or reopened. It is locked.
If an approver returns your sheet
Section titled “If an approver returns your sheet”-
You receive a notification. Open the sheet from Notifications or Sheets.
The status is Draft again. The History tab shows the return and the reason.
-
Correct the claims the approver mentioned.
-
Submit the sheet again.
The new submission shows the approver what has been added, removed or changed since the last one.
Withdraw a sheet you submitted
Section titled “Withdraw a sheet you submitted”-
Open the submitted sheet.
-
Choose Withdraw.
The sheet returns to Draft. Make your changes and submit again.
What happens after any of these
Section titled “What happens after any of these”- Each submission is kept as a separate Revision. Nothing about the earlier one is lost.
- You must confirm again when you resubmit, and every earlier sheet in the year must still be Processed.
- A claim that was in a submitted revision can no longer be permanently deleted, even after the sheet is back in Draft. It can be changed or removed from the draft, and the earlier record stays.
